CHAIN WEAR is indicated in three ways. - Shortness of the cutters.
- Wear or burr seen on the bearing surfaces of the tie straps of the chain. When there is little or no clearance in the middle of the tie straps, the chain is worn out. To be sure, compare the chain to a new one.
- With the chain loose, wear can be felt. How much you can lengthen or shorten part of the chain with two hands, compared to a new chain will indicate the amount of wear.
